Hobo Spiders
Hobo Spiders are an invasive species which are known for their nasty bites that can have necrotic effects. They are predominantly a ground dwelling species that build funnel webs low to the ground and are typically found in basements, crawlspaces and lower levels. They are not known to be avid climbers, but they can climb textured surfaces, bed skirts, carpeted stairs and many other areas. These spiders become increasingly active during late summer and early fall, which is their mating season. These spiders are FAST and will quickly dart across floors in search of mates. The females will leave pheromones in their webs which become major attractants for males during this time.
